On the Run: Rogue Heroes is a 175,000-word interactive novel by
Alyssa N. Vaughn. It’s entirely text-based, without graphics or sound
effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your
imagination.
You’ve never questioned why everyone with polypotarmism-that is,
preternatural abilities like enhanced strength or flight-is required
to enlist in a special branch of the military. For life.
At least, you’d never questioned it until the night your sister’s
abilities activated, and she was nearly arrested for avoiding the
draft. You narrowly avoid the same fate and soon find yourself dodging
psionic agents and allying with other runaways and teen vigilantes in
a cross-country adventure.
Not everything is as it seems, as you uncover clues not only about the
military’s clandestine research program, but about your own family. As
you venture farther into the shadows, the answers you find may change
your life, or even the lives of every Activated person alive.
