Language Immersion: Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Newcomer. This DLC unlocks intermediate mode and offers English speakers an opportunity for intermediates to practice and improve their Spanish, French, or Italian. You’ll find yourself visiting vibrant villages and communicating about a large variety of topics with native speakers.

Results: In your adventure, you will:

– gain exposure to hundreds of target language sentences
– improve your ability to understand pronunciation
– learn hundreds of vocabulary words

In Intermediate mode, you have two forms of communication: write and speak.

With writing, you can type messages to respond to the villager or to ask questions about the world, their life, or topics relevant to them.

You can eventually transition to the speak mechanism, which allows you to communicate in your target language by speaking.

It’s natural to make mistakes, even as an intermediate. You can check corrections to receive grammatical corrections on your current input.

For intermediates, you can try and understand your target language at a deeper level by using the grammar tab, which shows information such as literal translation, root verb and tense (if applicable), and part of speech for each word in the current target language sentence.

Unlike other language learning applications, Newcomer embeds you in an intricately crafted, context-rich world. It provides a series of engaging, progressively challenging tasks that naturally promote the language acquisition process. The “Tasks” component guides you through meaningful and focused conversations, turning every interaction into a learning opportunity. In intermediate mode, you’ll have hundreds of conversation tasks to complete, with “intermediate” and “advanced” tasks covering difficult thematic topics.
