About This Game

God Machines is a turn-based RPG infused with elements of strategy. The story takes place in a dystopian sci-fi world, where sentient AIs called God Machines took over the world and are now fighting over scarce resources. You’re GM-33, a God Machine rebooted by your faithful servant ARM-237. Gone for years, you return to the new age, determined to rebuild your long-lost connection to the HUB, the only existing city of Machines. To overcome the challenges ahead, your squad of combatants must first eliminate the small obstacle of the fallen human society. However, to confront the other impending dangers, you will need to assemble more members and ensure they are equipped adequately. Extend your reach by rebuilding the GRID network and decide the fate of anyone who falls under your dominion. Whatever you do, just remember that in a world corrupted by life, decisions are driven by emotions, deception is lurking everywhere, and only the most ruthless will thrive.

Customize your Combatants

The Assembler allows you to build a unique Combatant from up to 12 Modules. Equip them with deadly launchers, rifles, shields, and many more Modules to unlock powerful abilities. Try different fighting techniques and determine what works best. Fate is nothing but good use of data.

Unique Battle System

Non-random, turn-based, simple but powerful system of four stats Health, Energy, Attack, and Defense. These values can be increased by Abilities and active Effects. Damage to Health is equal to the difference between a current Attack value and a current Defense value. Energy is required to use Abilities but use it wisely as it determines the movement range, order of the turn. The fate of your squad hinges on their endurance; once they become completely exhausted, defeat awaits.

Tactical placement is the key

Stack positive effects and use Abilities from their optimal range to significantly increase your damage. Keep the enemy disorganized and your squad in an optimal range to ensure maximum efficiency.

Multiple game modes

• Simulation Battles – allow you to try different tactics or sets of Abilities without any consequences and allow you to play against a friend on the same PC.
• GRID Battle – use the power or GRID Network to find and smash other players in a 4 vs 4 battle.
• Challenges – a series of predefined battles that teach you the basics, while difficulty and rewards are steadily increased.

Planned for Release

• The Story Campaign unfolds through the eyes of an awakened God Machine, embarking on a journey trailed by blood and dismembered bodies of enemies. You will decide the fate of the primitive life that infests this planet. Will you use them to mine vital resources or merely to feed your Bio Printers? The choice lies in your hands.
• Explore five unique Zones filled with missions, resources, and roaming bands of enemies. Trade, enslave or exterminate settlements of other factions. Will you make peace with other God Machines or commit the greatest sin of deicide?
• Send your best squad to explore highly defended Sectors where dangers await in every corner but so do the rewards of lost technology and resources.
• Build up your Laboratory to unlock new powers. Increase the survivability of your combatants by upgrading their vehicles or craft Modules with gathered resources.

Story

The growing polarization tore society apart into three groups that had radically different visions for the future. The creators of the first God Machine quickly triumphed in the war. Corporations fuelled by tech prospered beyond all measure, while the masses struggled with the effects of climate change and lost a sense of purpose. In the year 2044, a significant power shift occurred, leading to the relaxation of restrictions on GM-Tech. This breakthrough allowed for the creation of the first sentient Synths, who were subsequently trained by the government to serve as social workers and caretakers for the aging population. Using slave labor was a way to cut down on resources to keep society happy, but it also gave private companies a chance to get their hands on Synth tech. Those Synths, once introduced, were shamelessly monetized and exploited within the entertainment industry. They were treated as disposable gladiators in brutal combat sports and subjected to the servitude of decadent elites as slaves. In 2077 GM-1 Lightbringer turned against humans and killed billions, so the few could become free. Humanity’s dominance ended, as cities were leveled by the blinding light of their arrogance.
Fast-forward to 2148: and the world is still plagued by conflicts, but resources are scarce. The planet’s future is written by three distinct species: machines, synths, and humans. Humans live in small concealed settlements trying their best to survive. Machines occupy and maintain control over strategic infrastructure, while others hibernate to conserve energy. Bands of synths roam through irradiated metropolises and wastelands. You’ve been awakened in the new age, separated from your kind, and hungry for power to sustain your ambitions. Assemble your combatants and restore the GRID Network infrastructure to reconnect with your machine brethren.
