About This Game

Adaptory is a 2D base-building/simulation game where your crew of four have crash landed on a mysterious planetoid deep in uncharted space. Using the planet’s limited resources and your creativity, you must keep your motley team alive, build up a base, repair your ship, and ultimately get home.

A unique cast of colonists

Give instructions to your characters (pawns) to build up a thriving base, using the materials around you, so that you can get off this planet. Every material has a use, and there are multiple ways to solve any challenge.

Emergent systems and gameplay

Play with a physics and chemistry simulation that includes gravity, temperature, density, viscosity, phase transitions, and more than 40 different materials. Each playthrough has procedurally generated terrain, characters, points of interest, and buried surprises for you to uncover.

Build up your thriving base

Connect your electric networks to power up your systems, set up your food and water sources, and exploit automation and sustainability systems to ensure your long-term survival.

Adapt to random events

Random world events will challenge the design and layout of your base as you dig deeper, with meteor showers, solar flares, relationship breakdowns, unexpected discoveries, and more. Can your crew and base adapt?

How are you getting out of here?

Learn more about your crew and the backstory of the world through the diary entries they write when they’re happy (or stressed). Every pawn has one of seven personality types, random likes and dislikes, skills and traits, and relationships with others.
