About This Game

Zhulu Chess is a strategy chess game that combines deck-building gameplay. Players start with an initial general and army, gathering resources through battles to build a powerful army to face the ultimate Boss.

Deck-Building Chess Game

In each battle, you need to select 12 chess pieces to fight against your opponent.
Infantry, cavalry, archers… Different pieces have different characteristics.
Chess pieces are divided into 3 levels, with higher levels having stronger attributes.
Like deck-Building games, pieces have a range of keywords such as first strike, sounding the retreat, etc., that can impact the game.
You can enhance these keywords by acquiring items, building your preferred playstyle.
Your ultimate goal is to attack the enemy and occupy the target grid.

Fast Turnaround between Victory and Defeat

The gameplay of Deer Hunting Chess integrates elements of the traditional Chinese board game – Go.
The game introduces “Qi” from Go as its core element.
Qi = Piece’s defense – Attack received .
Once the attacking piece is repelled, the crisis is immediately resolved.
Therefore, victory and defeat can change in an instant, requiring caution.

No Randomness in Battle

Once a battle starts, there are no elements of randomness.
Victory or defeat is determined from the first move, and every action by the player needs to be well thought out in pursuit of victory.

The Enemy’s Plan

At the start of each turn, you will know your opponent’s next move.
Whether to disrupt their intentions or to counter their plans is entirely up to your skill.

Hard Mode

True hardcore. In Hard Mode, you can no longer predict the enemy’s intentions.

Story Mode (Not yet completed)

The game features dozens of story levels for players to enjoy.
Each level has different challenge tasks, and completing these challenges unlocks different initial items.
Your choices in the story levels will ultimately determine the protagonist’s fate.

Roguelike Gameplay Experience (Not yet completed)

Beyond battles, the game includes a Roguelike gameplay aspect.
You will make choices from randomly appearing items and chess pieces in battles and shops, combining them to form your strongest army.
